9:30am-1pm PSAT Practice Test (EBR Meeting Rooms) Take a free, full-length PSAT Practice Test in real time to see what the test is like and to experience the testing process. Students get a detailed score report so they can identify their strengths and weaknesses and create an effective study plan. There is also a follow-up strategy session for those who have taken the test on a later date. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors only. Louisiana Children's Museum: Flag Day 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Salute your flag! Commemorate Flag Day with an afternoon filled with fun flag facts and crafts. Learn about the American Flag and how it was created. Make one out of shredded paper and sing patriotic songs inside our Times-Picayune Theatre. Design a unique flag and tell us about its meaning or make a humming flute. Don't miss the Patriotism Parade at 1:00 p.m., where you can march around the Museum playing your flute or waving your flag. Betsy Ross will be giving a special reading after the parade at 1:30 a.m. and be sure to get your picture taken with the women who crafted our American Flag.
Free Expo for Expecting Moms to be held at Ochsner – West Bank 10am-1pm, Ochsner will host a FREE Mommy-To-Be Expo at Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank Campus, 2500 Belle Chasse Highway. The Expo will highlight what the West Bank has to offer new moms as local vendors' crowd into the hospital lobby with free give-away items and product information. Ochsner is inviting future mom's to learn more about what's to come before and after their baby arrives, and to tour the Ochsner -West Bank Campus Labor and Delivery suites and Mother-Baby Units during the Mommy-To-Be Expo.
JUNE 11-13, 2010 (Parade June 11th; activities & music June 12 & 13th)The 24th annual Creole Tomato Festival will be held throughout the French Market District from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 12 & 13th with an Opening Day Parade & Press Conference on Friday June 11th. The Louisiana Seafood Festival and the Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival will be held nearby at the Old U.S. Mint at Barracks with an additional stage on Esplanade.The Creole Tomato Festival will feature cooking demos, tomato samplings, live music, Dutch Alley Artist’s Co-Op outdoor Arts Market, children’s activities, food booths, and more! Mainstage at Governor Nichols at the Farmers Market. Children’s activities & arts market in Dutch Alley. West Bank Regional Library - 2pm Reading to Rover Children of all ages can practice reading aloud to friendly dogs from the Visiting Pet Program. This is a good program for people who don't have pets but the kids want them so bad.
Audubon Insectarium- 10:00 AM - 05:00 PM Celebrate the two-year anniversary of the opening of North America's largest museum devoted to insects and their relatives. Featuring prizes, special chats, contests, and more! Don't forget to eat some of those insects while your there.
Not sure if anyone knew but Taco Bell has $2 meals which are not a bad idea. You get a drink, 1 food item and a small bag of chips. Next time you may want to check that out even good as a kids meal.
