Today is my relaxing day. Of course housework still needs to be done but it can wait a couple of minutes. I think I may even start washing the baby clothes today that everyone keeps buying. Just to feel like something was done. Of course still not many things out there but lets see what I can find.

Jefferson Parish Library will sponsor a blood drive with Ochnser Blood Bank Saturday, June 5, from 10am-3pm, at the East Bank Regional Library, during the Librarypalooza Summer Reading Kickoff Party. The Ochsner Bloodmobile will be in the library parking lot. All donors will receive a Saints/Blood Bank T-shirt and be entered into a drawing for two tickets to the Saints vs. Minnesota Vikings game at the Superdome on September 9. The drawing will be held Wednesday, September 1. The winner will be notified by phone. Donors also get a mini physical, cholesterol test, blood type and blood assurance package. Ochsner encourages donors to eat a healthy meal prior to donating.

New Orleans Oyster Festival Join the Louisiana Gulf Oyster Industry in a celebration of the restaurateurs and oyster farmers who have solidified the New Orleans French Quarter's position as the "Oyster Capital of America”. The inaugural New Orleans Oyster Festival will be held in the French Quarter. The New Orleans Oyster Festival will feature great Louisiana music, a cultural oyster tent, the finest local cuisine, and competitions for oyster shucking and the largest oyster. The “Acme Oyster House, World Oyster Eating Competition” will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the revered New Orleans institution. Weekend performances on the Event’s Stage include Irma Thomas, Rockin' Dopsie, Jr. & The Zydeco Twisters, and the James Andrews Band. Better enjoy some now before the oil gets to them.
